About Kathleen

Hello!

Welcome to my website.

I find it so amazing that you discovered my page in the vast internet. That is very cool

Through out my life life I have  worked at quite a few things, including multi unit construction, prefab, ranching, horse trainer, teachers assistant, camp cook, private school chef, and a few network marketing endeavors.

I married in 1984, and started my family.  Over the next 10 years we welcome six children into our life.

Being a mother is by far the hardest job I ever did. The most rewarding, but hard! Raising children is not for the faint of heart.

We lived on a ranch in northern BC, the children growing up learning how to milk cows, feed chickens, ride horses, and care for animals.

This was a fantastic foundation for them in their life journey, I thought.

After a few years we left the north and moved around a lot ( 9 times in five years) until we settled in Salmon Arm BC.

Anyone who has ever been in the Shuswap country will know instantly the deep love for soaring mountains, and green, lush valleys.

Here we bought a small hobby farm outside

the city, and raised horses, chickens, dogs, and cats.

The children were homeschooled off and on throughout their school years, then attended Salmon Arm Senior Secondary to complete their schooling and graduate.

Living on a farm again after years of moving from house to house, was very nice, and we settled in to build something worthwhile on this piece of paradise we call home.

Building A Music CD

After all the children had left home, I found free time! suddenly I had time to create, and began writing songs!

I had never learned to play any musical instrument, so this was A Capella singing, which means, only voice.

I would write all the lyrics, then sing the song over a thousand times, until I had the melody embedded in my mind.

During this time I met a musician who was just setting up his own recording studio.

We found a musical connection, and developed some of my songs with guitar, cello, harp, and violin.

Working together for two years, we built this CD of beautiful music.

Seven songs that I wrote, and three classic Celtic songs, of which one is Danny Boy.

The Celtic songs were sung a Capella.

For other songs we brought local musicians into the studio for a few sessions.

I would ask them if they could feel what instrumental addition the song needed. They would bend over their guitar, and the most beautiful music would flow forth.

I was blown away by the interpretations that they created, how they brought the songs to life in a way I was unable to imagine.

Yes, eternally grateful for their incredibly beautiful contribution to my musical project.

I’m humbled by the album that was produced through this process, its beauty, simplicity, and message.

I love what was created, this work of heart, this glimpse into life that is simple and pure. Through My Eyes is a window.

All the pieces just came together with that beautiful flow which made me realize I had become part of something bigger than myself, something  from ‘the Universe’.

I felt I was being directed in my creation of music. If I followed my heart, this music would touch the hearts of people across the earth.

Why I’m Here

Recently I felt compelled to create this  place on the internet,  so I could reach out to people, share my music with them, as it was shared with me.

I ask you to grab a cup of tea, to come sit and listen to a song that will connect with you, brighten your day, and hopefully touch your heart.

I thank you for reading this, and spending some time on my page. I appreciate you, and hope that we can connect.

Please leave a comment below if you feel it. I will read it, and reply to you as quick as I can.
